875 people attended this year’s Fish Forever event on Saturday, May 6th!
Many families and kids look forward to this event all year. The weather was amazing and a fun time was had by all!
This event provides a day of fishing for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity, while teaching them the value of conservation and connecting with nature. Ted Cawkwell and The Fishing Forever Foundation are the proud sponsors of this annual event.
The Fishing Forever Foundation is a not-for-profit (or social-profit) conservation organization that acts as a funding agency for worthwhile fishing, conservation, and education projects.
The event takes place every year at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Trout Pond. The event is free, and runs from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. During the event, we provide free parking, food, a fishing rod and the proper tackle for the day. A courtesy van is available to pick up those who would like assistance getting to and from the event.
The target age group for the event is kids up to age 16, and everyone who is young at heart is more than welcome to attend! There were families big and small, parents and grandparents, and volunteers of all ages, making it a truly multi-cultural and multi-generational event!

The Saskatoon Police are always on hand helping kids to learn that police personnel are more than authority figures. The kids got to interact with the Police and learn about some of the cool equipment. The police rescue vehicle was a big hit with both kids and adults alike!
From fishing guides and cooks, to face-painters and balloon-twisting experts – our sponsors, helpers, and volunteers are some of the very best! They say “it takes a village”, so we bring a village. Thank you to each and every one of you who offered your support.
